Actress Elizabeth Banks served as the evening’s emcee, making her initial appearance in the style of Republican candidate and former reality television personality Donald Trump’s own self-homage to his signature entrance on The Apprentice. Banks also shared with attendees and viewers: “Some of you know me from The Hunger Games, in which I play Effie Trinket, a cruel, out-of-touch reality TV star who wears insane wigs while delivering long-winded speeches to a violent dystopia. So when I tuned in to [the Republican National Convention] last week, I was like, Hey, that’s my act.”
Banks’s fashion choices, however, were no laughing matter: She wore a white fit and flare Elie Saab dress embellished with white paillettes and Jimmy Choo shoes.
