How the fashion world is tapping into the Star Wars spirit.

As the biggest film of the year hits the silver screen this week, the fashion force is strong

Much like the Coca-Cola advert and arrival of Jacob’s Treeselets in the supermarket snacks aisle, the release of a new Star Wars film has become synonymous with the advent of Christmas.

What it has also, inadvertently, become associated with is properly naff collaborations. See BB-8 kids’ Crocs and AT-AT Walker intarsia Christmas jumpers. This season, however, fashion is striking back with a new alliance between Disney’s LucasFilm and one high street hero.

Launching tomorrow, to coincide with The Last Jedi’s London premiere tonight and the film’s global cinema release on Friday, ASOS has created a seven-piece collection of red carpet-worthy party wear designed to appeal to mega-fans and naysayers alike.
