The prize for most literal interpretation of the Oscars 2018 red carpettheme? Consider it jointly shared by presenters Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock and Lupita Nyong'o. The three women used the occasion of their presenting gigs to add their voice to the issues currently dominating Hollywood's news cycle - throwing shade and dazzling in the process.
"It's a new day in Hollywood with new challenges ahead for all of us, but none of us will ever forget who came before us — those who blazed a trail for my generation and those to come," said Lawrence, presenting the Best Actress award alongside Jodie Foster in lieu of Casey Affleck, currently facing sexual assault allegations, who bowed out in January. Lawrence, who won an Oscar in frosty pink Dior in 2013, was the night's golden girl in shimmering Dior, a fashion house being infused with new relevance thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri's feminist leanings.
