Like it or not, the men’s red carpet harness is officially here to stay. When Timothée Chalamet first rocked a black sequined style by Louis Vuitton back at the Golden Globes, his fans remained unsure about the statement piece: was its kinky connotation with S&M just too unshakeable to be acceptable at a glitzy awards ceremony? Or did it make for a super cool, graphic topper? It looks like the polarizing garment, which is now being paired with suits by some experimental Hollywood gents, isn’t falling out of fashion just yet. Tonight, at the 25th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, Michael B. Jordan slipped on a harness by Vuitton—quite possibly the most extreme version yet.
The Black Panther star buckled into a cross-body Vuitton harness that was splattered with the label’s iconic monogram print. It was also watercolored with vibrant splashes of pink, lilac, white, and black, making for one seriously head-turning finish. Given its bold nature, Jordan paired it with a more classic double-breasted suit in navy and black. (The key to pulling it off: completely subduing it.) Underneath, he wore a classic white button-up shirt, and on his feet, sleek black Oxford lace-ups helped ground the more daring look.
